Almaty Building & Co develops, builds and commissions compressed natural gas filling stations in Kazakhstan, and is registered for the production of gaseous fuel, wholesale trade in natural gas and retail sale of motor fuel.
Compressed natural gas is pipeline methane, compressed for use as motor fuel
CNG is pipeline natural gas, mainly methane, compressed to around 200 to 250 bar so that it can be stored on board a vehicle and used as motor fuel. A compressed natural gas filling station is known in Kazakhstan as an AGNKS (АГНКС). CNG is used mainly by buses and commercial fleets: it costs less per kilometre than diesel and produces lower particulate and carbon dioxide emissions.
Kazakhstan’s plan: 36 stations by 2029
Kazakhstan plans to increase its CNG filling network to 36 stations by 2029, a 71 per cent increase on 2024, and to raise the gas-powered bus fleet from 2,700 to 5,143 vehicles, under the plan adopted by Government Resolution No. 463 of 21 June 2025. This plan runs to 2029; it is distinct from the separate 2023–2030 gasification scheme, which concerns household gas connection rather than vehicle refuelling.

Almaty: 1,608 CNG buses, about half the city fleet
About 1,608 buses, roughly 49.9 per cent of the Almaty city bus fleet, ran on compressed natural gas in 2026, served by eight CNG filling stations with four more planned. Those stations are operated by other companies; this company’s only station is in Aktobe.

The company completed and launched its first CNG filling station in Aktobe on 10 April 2026, with capacity for up to 300 vehicles a day. It is the company’s first station and the second in the city.

Natural gas and motor fuel supply
Alongside station development, Almaty Building is registered for wholesale trade in natural gas and retail sale of motor fuel. Supply arrangements are commercial and are not published; counterparties can request details through the due-diligence channel.
